Help

You may experience problems subscribing for one of the following reasons:

Cookies:
You are not accepting the "cookie" that is sent during Login. By accepting the cookie, your Username and Password are kept intact throughout your ConsumerLab.com Online session so that you are not repeatedly asked to enter them. Please be assured that the "Cookie" is saved to your hard drive, but will disappear once you exit your browser. To find out how to have your browser automatically accept the "cookie," use your browser's HELP feature, or contact the manufacturer of your browser directly for guidance (by phone or online).

Firewall:
You may experience problems if you are using a computer at your place of work, which is behind a "firewall." Firewalls are generally set-up by a company's technical or computer department to help protect and secure its systems. You can ask your technical or computer department if your computer is behind a firewall. If it is, ask them to configure the firewall so that you can access the subscriber area of our site

Web TV users:
As some Web TV users may have trouble subscribing using
ConsumerLab.com's Subscription page, an alternative Subscription page for Web TV users is available.  Click here for the alternative page.

Mac/AOL users:
Download the latest version of the Netscape browser (AOL's older Mac browser doesn't handle SSL).

SSL connections not available:
The browser and/or online service you are using doesn't handle secure connections using the SSL ("secure socket layer") encryption standard. There are some browsers that cannot handle the SSL connections (e.g. MAC users with AOL browsers, and Prodigy Classic browsers), and others that do not handle them reliably (e.g. WebTV). The only solution is to use another browser (e.g. Netscape 3.0 or higher, Internet Explorer 3.0 or higher, etc.).

SSL connections not turned "on":
Your browser handles SSL ("secure socket layer") connections, but this capability is not turned "ON." When you subscribe, and also when you try to Login, you are transmitting private personal information, (e.g. Username, Password, etc.). SSL connections safeguard this information. To find out how to turn the connections "ON," use your browser's HELP feature, or contact the manufacturer of your browser directly for guidance (by phone or online).

Need to Subscribe Offline:
If you cannot or do not wish to subscribe over the Web, you may subscribe by Fax, Mail, or Phone.

By FAX or MAIL: You will need to complete the subscription form (go to www.consumerlab.com/subscribe.asp ) and send the form to us with payment, as described below. Make sure that the Username and Password are clearly written on the printed form (Note that if you type the information in before printing it, the Password will appear hidden, so be sure to write it in.). Once we receive your subscription form and input the information into our system, you will be sent an e-mail to confirm your subscription, Username and Password. In the event that the Username or Password that you request is not available, you will be issued an alternate, so please check for this when you receive the confirmation.
