Our Members Asked:
I take 1000 mg of a high-absorption curcumin extract. It seems to be working, but would it be safe to take a larger dose?

Answer:
Although as much as 8,000 mg of curcuminoids (mostly curcumin) daily from a formulation that was not enhanced for absorption/bioavailability has been taken safely for as long as 18 months, a dose this high may not be safe with a "high absorption" curcumin. In addition, keep in mind that there are potential side effects and drug interactions with turmeric/curcumin that may increase with higher doses.
