I was asked by a US Navy hospital corpsman decades ago if I took a Vitamin C supplement after examining a urine sample under a microscope. When I told him I did, he warned me to be careful how much supplementary Vitamin C I took. He said it could crystallize in the urine, leading to urinary tract injury and even result in kidney stones. I quit taking it immediately.
