CDC: Kratom Linked to 91 Deaths

Kratom may have played a role in twice as many deaths as has been previously estimated, according to a report issued today by the Center of Disease Control (CDC). The agency found that between July 2016 and December 2017, kratom was determined to be a cause of death in 91 cases of unintentional drug overdoses. Until now, an estimated 44 deaths had been linked to the use of the controversial herb.
