Teas Recalled Due To Potential Botulism Contamination

One June 28, 2013, Harmony Chai issued a voluntary recall of its Concentrated Black Spiced Chai and Decaffeinated Rooibos Chai bottled tea drinks, because they have the potential to be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. This bacterium can cause botulism, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning. Consumers should not buy or drink these teas, even if they do not look or smell spoiled.
