Teen Use of Weight Loss and Workout Supplements Labeled "For Adult Use Only" Concerning

Three new studies have raised concerns that teenagers are able to purchase "body-shaping" supplements, such as creatine, testosterone boosters, and "fat-burning" products from health food stores despite the fact that many of these supplements are labeled "for adult use only." The American Academy of Pediatrics advises that children and teens under the age of 18 should not take body-shaping products. However, it is legal in most states for those under the age of 18 to purchase them.
