Organic Moringa Leaf Powder Recalled Due to Salmonella
On November 6, 2025, Africa Imports recalled its Organic Moringa Leaf Powder after some of the Moringa powder tested positive for Salmonella. The recall is the result of a broader investigation by the FDA and CDC into a Salmonella outbreak linked to a moringa leaf powder supplier, which also led to the recall of Member’s Mark Super Greens.

Salmonella infection can cause serious, sometimes fatal, illness in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In severe cases, infection can lead to arterial infections, endocarditis, or arthritis.
The recall includes all Africa Imports Organic Moringa Leaf Powder (see product photos) packaged in a 1-kilogram box and purchased after June 5, 2025. It was sold nationwide through the company’s website and distributed to retail and wholesale customers.
Consumers should stop using the product immediately and dispose of it. The FDA also advises consumers to carefully clean and sanitize any surfaces or containers that have come into contact with the powder.
