White Plains, NY, October 28, 2026 — Colostrum supplements are promoted for immune and gut health because they contain immune proteins, particularly antibodies (immunoglobulins) such as IgG. However, ConsumerLab’s recent tests of popular colostrum supplements found that two of seven products fell short on key immunoglobulins, and costs varied dramatically.
Key Findings:
-
Two products fell short on IgG: Only five of seven colostrum supplements contained the amounts of IgG claimed or expected in high-quality colostrum. One product contained just 1.3% IgG — less than 10% of the amount claimed – while others provided 13% to 35.4% IgG.
-
Costs varied dramatically: The cost of obtaining an equivalent amount of IgG (200 mg) varied by 2,500%, ranging from just 27 cents to nearly $7.
ConsumerLab’s Top Picks
Among products that passed ConsumerLab’s quality testing and were Approved, ConsumerLab selected its Top Pick colostrum supplement that delivered one of the highest concentrations and amounts of IgG at a lower cost than most other products.
