Probiotic Recalled Due To Undeclared Soy

On March 20, 2013, New Chapter, Inc. issued a voluntary recall of one lot of its Probiotic Elderberry dietary supplement because it may contain undeclared soy.

People who have a soy allergy should not consume this product as it could cause a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction.

The recalled lot of Probiotic Elderberry was sold in 90-count amber glass jars with an outer cardboard carton marked with Lot# 01230049332, UPC 7-27783-00123-8 and an expiration date of 01/31/15. The expiration date is also printed on the side of the bottle.

It was distributed nationwide through retail stores, mail order, and direct delivery.

No illnesses associated with this product have been reported to date.
