Seller of Tea Warned for Drug Claims

On March 4, 2015, the FDA issued a warning letter to Four Elements Organic Herbals, LLC because statements made about HERBAL TEA Power, Energy & Stamina, ORGANIC HERBAL TEA Tulsi TelepaTea, ORGANIC HERBAL TEA To Your Health, Hawthorn Fresh Herb Extract, Elderberry Fresh Herb Extract and Immune Blend Fresh Herb Extract on the company's websites, www.fourelementsherbals.com and www.fourelementsblog.com, were found to be drug claims.

For example, HERBAL TEA Power, Energy & Stamina was promoted with statements such as "The fruits of sumac are being used in herbalism to treat diabetes."

ORGANIC HERBAL TEA Tulsi TelepaTea was promoted with statements such as "[T]aken daily to prevent disease" and "[R]educes level of cholesterol in blood."

ORGANIC HERBAL TEA To Your Health was promoted with statements such as "Red Clover is great for ... strengthening the arteries, which may prevent plaque deposits that can lead to a heart attack or stroke."
