Seller of Herbal Formulas for Cholesterol, Prostate & More Warned For Drug Claims
On July 29, 2016, the FDA issued a warning letter to Healing-Scents following a review of the company's website, which found statements made about its products, Heart Herbs, Cholesterol Regulation Herbs, Diabetes Regulation Herbs, Prostate Healer Herbs, High Blood Pressure Herbs, Respiratory Ailment Herbs and Stomach/Intestinal Herbs to be drug claims.
For example, Cholesterol Regulation Herbs was promoted with statements such as "Hawthorn berries - Slowly eats away cholesterol deposits and provides relief from concurrent hypertension." Prostate Healer Herbs was promoted with statements such as "This blend helps fight prostatitis and enlargement in at least four ways. 1. Stimulates urine flow. 2. Reduces inflammation and infection. 3. Decreases the size of the enlarged prostate. 4. Prevents these conditions."
