Mislabeled Green Tea Supplement Recalled

On July 11, 2019, DaVinci Laboratories of Vermont issued a recall of 256 bottles of the weight management supplement Dim Plex because they may undeclared fish allergens. 

Dim Plex is labeled as containing green tea extract and Banaba leaf (Lagerstroemia speciose) extract and is described as a "dietary supplement to support weight management and hormonal balance in men and women." However, a certain number of Dim Plex bottles may, instead, contain omega-3 softgels and therefore, may contain undeclared fish (anchovy & sardines) allergens.

Consumers who are allergic to fish should not consume the recalled products as they may cause potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.

Recalled Dim Plex supplements that may contain omega-3 softgels were distributed nationwide through mail order and direct delivery. They are packaged in white plastic bottles and can be identified by the following:

  • 0522 expiration

  • UPC code 026664273161
Consumers who have purchased the recalled product with this lot number are urged to contact the company to arrange for return and replacement of impacted product.
