Iron Supplements Recalled Due to Undeclared Allergen
Between July 23 and 24, 2020, two companies issued recalls of iron supplements because they may contain undeclared milk. UpSpring LLC recalled one batch of UpSpring Baby Iron + Immunity, and Wellements LLC recalled two lots of Iron Drops liquid Dietary Supplement and samples of Iron Drops Sample liquid Dietary Supplement.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk should not consume these supplements as they may cause potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.
Recalled UpSpring Baby Iron + Immunity supplements were distributed nationwide via UpSpringBaby.com, Amazon,com, Target, and other retailers and come in a 60 ml dark brown glass bottle within a carton. It be identified by the following:
- Lot # 06691
- Expiration date March 2021
Recalled Iron Drops liquid Dietary Supplement and Iron Drops Sample liquid Dietary Supplement were distributed nationwide via Amazon.com, Wellements.com, and other retailers. The iron drops are sold in a 10oz glass amber bottle packaged in an individual product carton that includes a 1ml oral syringe dispenser. The iron drops samples contained a 1oz glass amber bottle filled to 2ml and packaged in an individual "SAMPLE- NOT FOR RESALE" product carton that includes a 1ml oral syringe dispenser. They can be identified by the following:
- Iron Drops Lot # 18491. Best By 1/2021
- Iron Drops Lot # 10592. Best By 10/2020
- Iron Drops Sample Lot # 10592. Best By 10/2020
Consumers who purchased these products and are allergic/sensitive to milk should not consume the product and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
