Hand Sanitizers Marketed for Children, Packaged in Containers Resembling Food and Drink Recalled

On October 1, 2020, Ashtel Studios recalled six hand sanitizers because they are packaged in containers resembling food and drink pouches. Hand sanitizers can be toxic if ingested, and can cause lack of coordination, slowed or slurred speech, drowsiness, coma, or death. Children may also experience decreased blood sugar which may lead to death. Alcohol consumption during pregnancy can lead to birth defects and developmental disabilities, and consumption during nursing can also lead to impaired development.
