FTC Files Complaint Against Two Supplement Companies for Deceptive Marketing
On November 20, 2020, the FTC approved a Part 3 administrative complaint against Health Research Laboratories, LLC, its owner Kramer Duhon, and Whole Body Supplements, LLC for making unverified claims that their products can prevent or treat diseases. The supplements The Ultimate Heart Formula, BG18, and Black Garlic Botanicals were promoted with claims that they could prevent or treat heart disease, while Neupathic contained claims that it could treat diabetic neuropathy.
The complaint came almost three years after the FTC first ordered the defendants to stop making unsubstantiated claims about their products, and a judge will hear the complaint in July 2021.
