FDA Warns Seller of Liposomal Vitamin C, Vitamin D & More
On December 21, 2020, the FDA issued a warning letter to Sparrow Health & Performance LLC for selling the products Organic Liposomal Vitamin C, Nanoemulsified D3K2 (also called Liquid Liposomal Vitamin D3 with K2 or Liposomal Vitamin D3) and Immune Support Package (which includes the products Organic Liposomal Vitamin C, Nanoemulsified D3K2, Virus Be Gone, and Smart Silver) with unsupported claims that they can treat coronavirus (COVID-19).
The FDA has previously stated: "There currently are no vaccines, pills, potions, lotions, lozenges or other prescription or over-the-counter products available to treat or cure coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)."
Sparrow Health & Performance products were promoted with statements such as "NOW IN STOCK LIPOSOMAL VITAMIN D3... Vitamin D supplementation reduces the risk of respiratory infection, regulates cytokine production and can limit the risk of other viruses such as influenza," "Vitamin C is currently being used in some hospitals to treat the coronavirus & seriously ill," and "Virus Be Gone... This blend is a family favorite that can be taken daily to keep viruses at bay."

The FDA instructed the company to send an email to COVID-19-Task-Force-CDER@fda.hhs.gov within 48 hours of receipt of the warning, describing the specific steps it has taken to correct these violations.
