Methylene Blue 1

Answer:

A viral video showing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. adding dark blue liquid drops to his drink on a flight had many people speculating that he may have been using methylene blue, which is sold as a supplement and promoted for anti-aging, improving memory and brain health, and increasing energy.

But does this compound, which has also been used as a dye to give blue jeans their signature color and as a medication to treat malaria and cyanide poisoning, really boost energy, slow aging, improve memory, or reduce depression, and is it safe?

MB did raise my blood pressure. That was the only effect I noticed so I discontinued taking it.

I began using approximately 8mg of methylene blue troches six days a week about two years ago to combat long covid symptoms of fatigue and brain fog. I can really tell a difference in the brain fog when I take MB. I can focus better and have improved memory and cognition. Fatigue has improved, but I don't think MB had much of a role in that.

Alan, what brand of MB troches are you using?
Thanks

I have severe brain fog from a viral infection that caused irreversable damage to my vestibular nerve two years ago. I battle with fatigue and cognitive function. Ive been taking methylene blue for 3 months and I experience significant results. Im currently taking 15mg per day but as a result of doing more research im increasing my dosage to 15mg 3x per day. I will report back in a month or so.

That is encouraging! Do you also have dysautonomia or orthostatic hypotension? I’m wondering if it has made those better?

I was considering taking MB but not unless some useful results are indicated in testing. Thanks for the report.

Thank you for this report. I’m 81 with the APOE4 variant with no AD symptoms yet. I am trying 8mg/day of MB in my coffee. I have yet to see any effect. Unless I notice a positive effect, I may discontinue MB after consuming my supply.

I’m also APOE4, age 78, and non symptomatic. What positive effect might you be expecting? How do plan to quantify or measure these positive outcomes? Thank you for your comment. Best wishes.

I'm also an 81 y.o. male with one copy of the APOE4 variant (and a family history of AD). I would be VERY interested in hearing how your experiment works out.
