WHITE PLAINS, NY, April 24, 2000 — ConsumerLab.com announced today that it is developing the first consumer guide to dietary supplements to be based on comprehensive independent laboratory testing of popular supplements sold in the U.S. The ConsumerLab.com Buyer's Guide to Dietary Supplements will be of great assistance to the 158 million Americans who purchase herbal, mineral, vitamin, and other supplements, as well as to healthcare professionals and retailers. ConsumerLab.com's test results have been widely cited in the media but been generally available only online at www.consumerlab.com and at other licensed Web sites. Manufacturers Invited to Have Products Tested:
While the majority of popular brands of supplements are already being evaluated in ConsumerLab.com's testing, manufacturers of additional products in the categories listed above are invited to have their products tested for potential inclusion in ConsumerLab.com's Lists of Approved Quality Products. This additional testing is conducted through ConsumerLab.com's Ad Hoc Testing Program in which products are independently purchased and tested by ConsumerLab.com at the request of manufacturers that pay a testing fee.
