On April 13, 2020, Arthri-D, LLC issued a recall of one lot of Arthri-D arthritis supplement because recent testing found it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Salmonella is an organism that has been linked to fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly adults, and people with weakened immune systems. In healthy adults, Salmonella can produce fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare cases, Salmonella infection can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.

Recalled Arthri-D supplements were distributed nationwide through mail orders. This product comes in a 225 cc, white plastic HDPE bottle. It can be identified by the following:
  • Arthri-D (120ct)
  • Lot #1701-092
  • Manufacturing date: March 2017
Consumers who have any of this affected product should not consume it and should return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or throw it away.

Production of the product has been suspended while the FDA continues its investigation. This product was also recalled in January 2018 for potential contamination with Salmonella.
