Supplement Maker Ordered to Stop Selling Products

On January 15, 2015, a federal judge ordered a permanent injunction against dietary supplement manufacturer Health One Pharmaceuticals, Inc. which requires the company to stop manufacturing and selling dietary supplements. The injunction requires Health One to recall and destroy all dietary supplements that were manufactured, prepared, packed, labeled, held or distributed between September 1, 2011, and January 15, 2015.

Health One informed the court that it has stopped the manufacture and distribution of all articles of food, drugs and dietary supplements.

The injunction is the result of the company's failure to correct manufacturing violations cited by the FDA in 2012, including failure to perform tests to verify the identity of dietary ingredients used to manufacture the supplements and failure to clean and sanitize equipment.

In order to re-open, Health One will have to hire an independent expert to determine whether the company has complied with manufacturing regulations, and receive permission to resume operations from the FDA.
