FDA Warns Companies Selling CBD Products as Dietary Supplements

On November 25, 2019, the FDA issued warning letters to 15 companies for selling products containing CBD (cannabidiol) labeled and marketed as dietary supplements, and/or for making drug claims about these products. In the letters, the agency emphasized that CBD is not permitted to be sold as a dietary supplement and cannot be added to food.
