Mislabeled Lindt Chocolate Bar Recalled

On March 19, 2020, Lindt & Sprüngli (USA) Inc. issued a recall of one lot of Lindt Excellence 85% Cocoa chocolate bars because they are wrapped in the wrong packaging. The bars are labeled as Lindt Excellence 85% Cocoa but contain Lindt Excellence Dark Caramel Sea Salt bars, and therefore contain undeclared milk and soy.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy should not consume these bars as they may cause potentially life-threatening allergic reactions.

[Note: The recalled bar is not the Lindt dark chocolate bar tested by ConsumerLab in 2019.]

Recalled Lindt Excellence 85% Cocoa bars were distributed nationwide to wholesale and online retailers and can be identified by the following:
  • UPC 3746601645

  • Lot code L5539

  • Best-Buy date 11/30/2020
Consumers who purchased this bar and are allergic/sensitive to milk should not consume the product and may contact Lindt USA directly for a voucher for replacement product.
