Seller of Wormwood, Aloe Supplement Warned by FDA

On December 7, 2021, the FDA issued a warning letter for Western Herb Products, Inc. following an inspection of the company's manufacturing facility in Washington, which found the company's products to be adulterated because they were prepared, packed, or held in conditions that do not meet Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) for dietary supplements.

In addition, the company's Wormwood/Aloes dietary supplement was misbranded because the label of this product fails to identify the appropriate part of the plants from which the botanical dietary ingredient in the product is derived. The label also fails to declare the net quantity of contents on the principal display panel. According to the warning the product is adulterated because the company did not have written specifications to ensure purity, strength, and composition of the dietary supplement.

The company has 15 days to respond to the FDA in writing to explain the specific steps taken to address any violations.
