Seller of Dr. Miller’s Herbal “Detox” Teas Warned by FDA for Drug Claims

On February 3, 2023, the FDA issued a warning letter to Jackson Health & Wellness Clinic after inspection of the company’s website found statements about the company’s Dr. Miller’s Holy Tea, Dr. Miller’s Super Holy Tea, Dr. Miller’s Ultimate Tea, Dr. Miller’s Be Free Spring Clean Herbal Detox (pills and tea), and Dr. Miller’s Youthin Fatburner products to be drug claims.

For example, Dr. Miller’s Holy Tea and Dr. Miller’s Super Holy Tea products were promoted with statements such as, ”[H]elp relieve digestive ailments such as Acid Reflux (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn's Disease, Diverticulitis, Colitis” and “[A]id in reducing high LDL cholesterol and hypertension.” Dr. Miller’s Youthin Fatburners were promoted with statements such as, “Regular use of Youthin Fat Burners may help control High Blood Pressure and Cholesterol.”

The company products were also misbranded because the labels lacked adequate directions for use.
