Atlantic Salmon Sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club Recalled Due to Listeria Risk
On January 31, 2026, Slade Gorton & Co., Inc. recalled one lot of Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon sold at BJ’s Wholesale Club because the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated after FDA testing found Listeria in a product sample.

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly individuals, and people with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Listeria infection can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
Recalled Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon (see product photos) was sold only at BJ’s Wholesale Club stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, and can be identified as follows:

- Lot number: 3896
- Dates sold: January 31 through February 7, 2026
Consumers who purchased the affected salmon should not eat it and should call the phone number provided in the recall notice for instructions on obtaining a full refund and what to do with the remaining product.
