Kian Pee Wan Capsules Recalled

On March 30, 2026, Aphreseller, a seller on eBay, announced a nationwide recall of all lots of Kian Pee Wan capsules after FDA testing found that the product contained undeclared drug ingredients, dexamethasone and cyproheptadine, which are not permitted in dietary supplements.

Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that can suppress immune function, increase blood sugar, and cause serious side effects such as muscle injury, psychiatric effects, and cardiovascular complications. Long-term or high-dose use may suppress adrenal function and, in severe cases, lead to death; stopping suddenly may also cause withdrawal symptoms. Cyproheptadine is an antihistamine that may cause sedation, dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, nausea, and urinary retention.

Consumers who have used this product and experience adverse effects should contact a healthcare provider. Customers are advised to stop using the product and return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

Adverse events may be reported to the FDA’s MedWatch program.
