Man in wheelchair talking with doctor after recovering from COVID

What is the best way to care for yourself when recovering from COVID-19? After infection, there are many things to consider, including how long you should quarantine, whether you should get vaccinated, when it is safe to undergo a surgery, and how to spot and, possibly, improve symptoms of "long COVID," such as fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of taste and/or smell and tinnitus (ringing in the ears).

Other reported symptoms of "long COVID" can include dizziness, muscle and joint pain, changes in blood sugar or hyperglycemia, depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia and kidney injury. Interestingly, certain changes in diet may indicate a loss of taste or smell. Be aware that some symptoms may be more common in woman than men. Fortunately, evidence suggests that at least some symptoms of long COVID resolve over time in most people. Sign in to see the full answer and find out what experts recommend.

What about regaining taste and smell? I have had this for almost 3 months now

I’ve looked for physicians who treat long Covid and haven’t had any luck. Any info that anyone knows of would be very helpful. I’m going on month 6 of debilitating fatigue, shortness of breath, concentration issues and overall feeling run over by the lasting effects from Covid.

Don't understand or agree how those who have had covid would require a "shot" to prevent covid. My body already knows what the "real" thing looks like so I will not get a "shot". There is no reason to confuse the immune system with artificial and experimental drugs when I have already experienced the real thing.

Yours is a fair comment, but there are several good reasons why a person who has had COVID should get vaccinated, as discussed in our article about COVID vaccines:

I'm at 5 months now without regaining any significant taste and smell. Please post if anyone has a solution!
