I use beta-sitosterol for my prostate. Should it be taken with or without food?
As discussed in the Prostate Supplements Review, when used to reduce symptoms of an enlarged prostate (or BPH — benign prostatic enlargement), beta-sitosterol should be taken without food, to maximize absorption. Interestingly, beta-sitosterol can also be used to lower cholesterol by taking it with food (as discussed in the Cholesterol-lowerers Review). See the respective reviews for more details, including dosage.
