Bariatric Fusion Multivitamins Recalled

On September 11, 2025, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Blueroot Health issued a recall of several lots of Bariatric Fusion High ADEK multivitamin capsules because they contain a significant amount of iron (45 mg) but are not packaged with child-resistant bottle caps. This poses a risk of poisoning, which can be fatal, if the contents are swallowed by young children.

(As discussed in ConsumerLab’s Iron Supplements Review, iron supplements are a leading cause of poisoning in children younger than age 6. Also see ConsumerLab’s Multivitamin and Multimineral Supplements Review for tests of related products, and our article about supplements and bariatric surgery.)

Recalled High ADEK multivitamin capsules (90 and 270-count bottles) and One Per Day bariatric multivitamin capsules (90-count bottle) are manufactured by VitaQuest International, LLC, and distributed by Blueroot Health. They were sold online on the company’s website, Amazon, and other websites from January 2025 through June 2025. The products are packaged in white and orange bottles with the Bariatric Fusion logo printed on the front, and bear one of the following lot numbers: 0066J4, 0065J4, 0453B5, or 0370B5.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission advised consumers to immediately secure the recalled bottles out of the sight and reach of children. Consumers may also contact Blueroot Health for information on how to obtain a free child-resistant replacement cap.
