On August 10, 2026, Church & Dwight Co., Inc. recalled certain lots of Zicam Cold Remedy Medicated Nasal Swabs With Cooling Menthol & Eucalyptus because an FDA inspection of the contract manufacturer found deviations from current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMPs). According to FDA’s Enforcement Report, the inspection found out-of-limit results for microbiological testing.

Zicam Cold Remedy Medicated Nasal Swabs With Cooling Menthol & Eucalyptus are labeled as homeopathic and do not contain zinc. (Be aware that nasal swabs containing zinc have been linked with temporary and permanent loss of smell, as discussed in our Zinc Supplements and Lozenges Review.)

Recalled Zicam Cold Remedy Medicated Nasal Swabs were distributed nationwide in the U.S. and can be identified by the following:

Consumers should not use the recalled product.

In June 2025, Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Swabs were recalled due to fungal contamination.
