Melatonin: Potential Drug Interactions
Question: I take melatonin to help me fall asleep. Are there any drugs that interact with melatonin that I should be aware of ?
Answer: Melatonin supplements may increase the effects of certain drugs, and may decrease the effectiveness of others, including blood pressure medications. Also be aware that certain drugs (and even caffeine) may increase the amount of melatonin you absorb from supplements, potentially increasing its effects. For details, see the Caution and Concerns section of the Melatonin Supplements Review >>
