Our Members Asked:
Do Probiotics, Such as Those by Bioma and Pendulum, Boost GLP-1 to Help with Weight Loss?
Answer:
Although some probiotic strains have been shown to temporarily and indirectly increase levels of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), a natural hormone involved in blood sugar and appetite control, there is conflicting evidence about whether probiotics can significantly reduce body weight. In contrast, GLP-1 agonists like Wegovy and Ozempic are long-lasting and act directly on the GLP-1 pathway, making them more potent than probiotics.
