Curcumin and Dry Eye -- woman with dry eyes, rubbing her eyes

Answer:

There do not appear to be any studies suggesting that supplementing with curcumin (from turmeric) causes dry eye. In fact, some preliminary evidence suggests that curcumin may help relieve dry eye. There is also preliminary evidence that curcumin may reduce symptoms of chronic anterior uveitis, which can cause redness and pain in the eye but, again, no well-controlled studies have proven this effect. For more details about this and other possible effects of curcumin, see the What It Does section of the Curcumin and Turmeric Supplements and Spiced Review.
