Question: Do melatonin supplements reduce the body's own production of melatonin?
Answer: Taking small to moderate doses of melatonin from supplements does not appear to reduce the body's own production of melatonin (endogenous melatonin), although there are other factors that may decrease your body's natural levels of melatonin. For details, see the What to Consider When Using section of the Melatonin Supplements Review, which also includes our tests and Top Picksamong popular products.
