Question:
Will the zinc challenge or taste test really tell if I'm zinc deficient?

Answer:
A test for zinc deficiency, known as the zinc challenge or zinc taste test, has been promoted online and by some health practitioners. It involves putting a liquid zinc dietary supplement, in your mouth. The taste and mouth sensation that develops after doing this will reveal, according to those who advocate for this test, whether or not you have zinc deficiency and need a zinc supplement.

We purchased a liquid zinc supplement used for this challenge and investigated the evidence and science behind the test. Learn what we found and whether or not this test works in the "Zinc Challenge" section of our Zinc Supplements Review >>
