Probiotics For Yeast Infections

Question:
Do probiotics really help prevent or treat vaginal yeast infections?

Answer:
Taken orally, certain probiotic strains have been found to reduce bacteria and yeast known to cause infection caused by overgrowth of these organisms in the vagina, possibly helping prevent infections, although one study found no benefit when used during antibiotic therapy. Oral probiotics have not been found to reduce existing yeast infections. There is mixed evidence on whether probiotics in suppository form can help. Because of a severe case of Lyme Disease, I have been on dual antibiotics for 16 years, which have saved my life. During this 16 years including today, I take 50 billion daily of probiotics. Because of this, I have had absolutely no adverse effects of the antibiotics. I hardly think that my continued health & recovery would be possible without probiotics after taking dual antibiotics this long. If I don't stay on a maintenance of antibiotics, I will surely relapse. Thanks to Natren Healthy Trinity probiotics, I am able to have a normal, productive life. I also give much credit to my Lyme literate doctor who is well aware of what a difficult, complex & debilitating disease Lyme is. No, I do not have a financial interest in Natren products. Just a happy customer.
