Our Members Asked:
Is it true that green tea can interact with blood-thinning medications like warfarin (Coumadin) or clopidogrel (Plavix)?
Answer:
While green tea contains vitamin K and catechins — both of which have the potential to counteract the effects of some blood thinning medications -- drinking a moderate amount of regular brewed green tea would not be expected to cause a problem. (However, matcha green tea could potentially intefere with certain blood-thinning medications.)
